The Product
Wetter Indochine designs sometimes take inspiration from confectionaries (their delectable lacquer cupcakes are good enough to eat), so we’re not completely sure if their petite bunny figurines are meant to evoke a dark chocolate and white chocolate rabbits, but either way we’re biting. These sculptural bunnies are handmade in a traditional process that requires multiple applications of lacquer, sanding, and polishing to strengthen the material. The final result is a flawless glossy coat. Not suitable for high temperature water or dishwashers.

The Manufacturer & Designers
Since 1998 Wetter Indochine has been bringing Asian style with a twist to the modern market. Run by Swiss-born Michael Kuehne and American Barbara Thompson, the Vietnam tranplants had backgrounds in textiles and fashion, respectively, before falling in love with the artistry and craftsmanship of Vietnamese housewares and design. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the pair successfully translate traditional Eastern materials and techniques into unique objects that appeal to Western tastes as well.
