The Product
Like a stark wood in winter, the bare trees of this wallpaper can be repeated until you find yourself standing in the middle of a forest. Surprisingly modern for a pattern designed in the 1950s, Cole & Son continues to produce Woods for a new generation of discerning decorators. The colored collection of this paper uses the same beautifully rendered trees, but with a dark-colored background and light-colored trees.

The Designer
Michael Clark designed several botanical wallpapers for Cole & Sons during the 1950s. In addition to his wooded designs, he also created more lush panels that included palm leaves, orchids and lilies.

The Manufacturer
Cole & Son has been producing wallpapers since 1875. Their work combines traditional techniques, such as wood block and hand-printing, with modern papers and inks to create contemporary and traditional designs suitable for framing.
