The Product
Like Hella Jongerius and other contemporary crafters, Joana Meroz reinterprets a traditional craft using unconventional materials with her lace inspired drain. Laser-cutting reveals a daintier side of stainless steel and brings a bit of beauty to the bottom of your sink.

Please note the design cut in the drain will not prevent small debris from passing through.

Currently living in the Netherlands by way of Brazil, Design Academy Eindhoven graduate student and ceramicist Joana Meroz and her studio, The Ornamented Life, have already achieved the kind of success many designers dream of: her with lace series was picked up by Dutch design trend setters, droog, in 2007.
