The Product
Textile designer Lisa Stickley has fun with the traditional notion of British afternoon tea with her Custard linens. The table appears to be set before the first plate touches down thanks to the realistically printed china, fully decorated with familiar floral patterns and painted rims. Crisp white Irish linen is an appropriate background, and gives the trompe l’oeil plates the legitimacy they need to fool even the keenest eye. Each plate is finished by hand to add realism and detail.

The Designer
Lisa Stickley found almost instant success upon graduation from London’s Royal College of Art in 2002 with a graduate degree in printed textiles. That same year she started her self-titled brand out of a refurbished Victorian house, and although completing projects for Burberry and Harrod’s, it’s her signature English-vintage-with-a-twist style that has fueled the success of her brand.
