This sculpted set is one of the most recent designs from David Mellor's collection. Produced in 2004, 50 years after his first cutlery collection hit English tables, this collection carries all the hallmarks of classic Mellor design: subtle curves and a velvety matte finish, along with an imprinted off-set maker's mark from the designer himself on the steak knife. Dishwasher safe.

The Designer & Manufacturer
The bus shelters of Britain and your dining table have something in common: David Mellor. Silversmith and internationally respected designer David Mellor has been designing everything from bus shelters and traffic lights, to forks and knives for over 50 years.

A graduate of the Sheffield College of Art and the Royal College of Art, Mellor designed his first flatware in 1954 at age 24. A strong sense of social awareness and responsibility is threaded throughout his work, leading him to engage in projects not typically identified with high-design. The cafeterias of schools, hospitals and prisons in England used David Mellor designed cutlery throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and Mellor traffic lights and bus shelters are still a standard today.

Currently working out of a purpose-built factory and studio near his hometown and "Steel City", Sheffield, David Mellor is now solely focused on producing quality cutlery, his original and sustaining passion. A holistic approach to design, creation, and production continues to propel his products to the front of the pack.
