The Product
Adapted from their Colour Plaid collection of blankets that debuted at the Milan furniture show in 2007, Scholten and Baijings' cushions from Thomas Eyck are bite-sized versions of their original large, colorful throws.

Made of 84% merino wool, the finest and softest wool available, each cushion consists of a graduated color sequence that showcases the subtle range of colors that can be achieved through expert weaving. Woven by the De Ploeg company, a decades old Dutch cooperative, the geometric design also pays homage to the weaving styles of De Ploeg's earliest woven pieces. Available in light pink, light yellow, light purple and dark purple.

The Designers
The Scholten & Baijings studio evenly mixes professional training with amateur talent. The first fifty percent comes from Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Stefan Scholten, who brings his training as an industrial designer to the partnership. The other fifty percent consists of Carole Baijings, a self-taught designer who is now enjoying a successful second career after working as an administrator for several years.

Founded in the Netherlands in 2000, the Scholten & Baijings studio has found success in furniture, lighting, jewelry and textile design. Both Scholten and Baijings teach classes together at Design Academy Eindhoven, and are continually expanding their design portfolio into new mediums, such as this plush collection of pillows and blankets for Thomas Eyck.
