The Product
Stelton’s most popular design, the vacuum jug, recently turned 30 years old and won the Danish Design Prize in 2007, the highest design award presented in Denmark. It wasn’t the first award for this proud thermal jug. Designer Erik Magnussen originally designed it in stainless steel to match Arne Jacobsen’s Cylinda barware line, but its immense popularity led him to add color to the line and improve the serving features. The easy rocker lid design allows for single-handed pouring, and the added screw-on lid means it's ready to work on-the-go. The insulated glass liner means you can use it with hot or cold beverages. Not dishwasher safe.

The Designer
Functionality is at the root of all Erik Magnussen’s designs. A trained ceramicist, the Danish-born Magnuseen has won the Danish Society of Industrial Design prize four times for his practical housewares, and was 1983’s Designer of the Year as warded by the Danish Design Council. He continues to reinvent his best-selling vacuum jug in imaginative new colors, keeping the classic design fresh.

Denmark, well-known for the seriousness with which it takes design, awarded Magnussen the Danish Design Prize in 2007 in honor the jug’s thirtieth birthday and was presented by the crowned prince himself.
